I was born and raised along the shores of Lake Ontario in Niagara County, New York, minutes away from the majestic Niagara Falls. The region is rich in history from the War of 1812 fought at Old Fort Niagara to the locks of the Erie Canal in Lockport, New York. There is something for everyone with sports fishing to the Niagara Wine trails. Toronto, Canada is within view of the shoreline and a pleasurable boat ride across the lake. These locales have given inspiration to many of my storylines.
Like many writers, I have been writing since I could hold a pencil. Not to date myself, but computers didn’t exist when I began writing. They are far preferable to my stone tablets. It was my high school English teacher who encouraged me to study writing and journalism, but I had other ideas. I pursued a degree in Criminal Justice where I was among one of the first women to become a Niagara County deputy sheriff. It was my tenure as a deputy sheriff which gave me invaluable insight into people from all walks of life. My characters have been collectively shaped from these encounters. Although law enforcement was my career, I was never far from my passion for writing. It has only been in the last few years I have had the leisure to devote myself to writing full time.
I reside with my daughter, Hayley, on our rural Niagara County horse farm where we train our horses in an experimental program to scent track missing persons.
